The basic premise is that the 14 year old Kristin Savić comes to the eternally foggy city of Rondon in search of a friend she met as a child.
She doesn't have any info about the girl, not even her name. All she has is her friend's old music box, where to identical ballerinas eternally dance. Kristin eventually ends up living at the Joinery household, where she meets two living dolls of the bellerinas in her music box.

(I don't like either of these for the record. The swirly hair doesn't fit the prostitute (name is WIP) and Lowell's clothes are way too simple for someone in the upper-middle class. Ususally I wouldn't really care, but he's romani and I do not want him to look poor. He needs more ouji swag.)

I want it to be extremely unclear what time period the story takes place in (Rondon has the technology of the 1930s, Kristin's mom dresses like she's from the 1940s, Kristin and the dolls wear ouji/lolita styles, the characters use mdoern slang and queer identeties ect.) but I think I'll need to add some more historical fashion.
I think some 1900s inspired clothes for the women and victorian gothic clothing for men would do well.
